- A short rant

The thing I don't like about "geek culture" is that its conceptual space is occupied by ideas that are so inbred that they're crippled from inception and so insular that they're forced to subsist on their own waste. For example, in the mind of your average "geek", any permutation of the words pirate, ninja, and zombie is the bud of a flowering genre of art that would fit in a museum somewhere between the Warhol and Pollack exhibits. Most of what "geek culture" really produces is like a dandelion that sprouts from a cow pie: small, ugly, and common.
